How Calvary Church Hosted Easter Sunday with LED Billboard Trucks

The Calvary Church in Irving, Texas wanted to conduct a drive in style movie service using LED billboard trucks on Easter Sunday during the Covid 19 shelter in place rules. They asked Texas Mobile Advertising to broadcast all the activities from the stage to the cars that were socially distanced in the parking lot.

During the COVID-19 pandemic it was important to maintain social distance. If you did attend social events you typically had to stay in your cars. Calvary Church faced many problems with Easter Sunday coming up. They were uncertain if they would be able to pull off a full blown service event with all the new rules in place.

However, they reached out to Texas Mobile Advertising with an idea for a drive in style movie service that could be hosted on the LED billboard trucks.

How LED Billboard Trucks Brought Life to the Congregation

The congregation was able to view their pastor, back-up singers, and the organist on two LED billboard trucks strategically placed 100 and 200 feet on each side of the stage.

Throughout the day the enthusiastic congregation enjoyed live church services for the first time in over a month!
The Texas Mobile Advertising staff can attest that the congregation was enthusiastic. Frequent horn blasts were submitted with verbal “Amens” from 7am to 4pm.

An average of 200 cars were spaced out for all five services on an RSVP basis. On the LED billboard trucks we displayed a message to tune into 91.1 FM where you would be able to hear the church services on the radio.

A test run was done on Saturday to ensure that everything was working properly with the LED billboard truck. We drove a five mile radius from the church to grocery stores to big box hardware stores and membership clubs to promote the services. We used a 1950s style promotion with bright colors and a convertible car on the LED billboard trucks for early promotion.
